In order to see how we can optimize an orchestra’s performance, it is useful to know it will be rendered by the Csound program. In Csound, the orchestra is executed in a loop-like fashion. Every line of the orchestra that is part of an active instrument is being executed repeatedly so that it continues to generate new samples.

9. Pie Jesu (Faure’s Requiem)
10. Aria (Goldberg Variations)

I tried it a couple times, and this was probably my least favorite set, but hey, those are the rules. Very classical-heavy though. Hmm.

If you’re not hip to it yet, the Sandman series was one of the best thing ever to happen to comic books. Neil Gaiman went from reinterpreting Shakespeare to Greek mythology to redesigning the whole universe from scratch, and it always worked so well. This stuff is basically required reading for anyone interested in mythology, dreams, the collective unconscious, and, above all, fantastic stories.
